Post Baccalaureate Information
Post Baccalaureate status is for students who are interested in the graduate program but have not been approved for admission. This program allows students to further their education by taking courses in varying fields of study. Students must receive approval from the University of Houston office of admission to be in this status. After receiving acceptance, students must seek permission (Permission form to enroll in ECE 6000 level course) from the ECE department prior to enrolling in desired courses. Only six hours will be transferred once admission to a graduate program has been completed. Students must apply for a graduate program and meet the necessary requirements by the deadline if they are interested in a degree program.
Non-ECE Majors Seeking Graduate ECE Degree Information
If your undergraduate major is not in Electrical or Computer Engineering or an equivalent field, you will probably be required to take a series of undergraduate courses designed to prepare you for graduate work in ECE. These "leveling" courses will not count toward your graduate degree. Please consult the Leveling Courses document for more information or email a copy of the undergraduate transcript to the dept. office of admission for review.
Transfer Credit Information
The student may transfer up to 6 hours of graduate-level work completed elsewhere to the study program at the University of Houston upon the approval of the Director of Graduate Studies. Six hours of graduate-level work completed while the student has been a Post-Baccalaureate (PB) student at the University of Houston can also be transferred upon the approval of the Director of Graduate Studies. Courses in Technology programs cannot be transferred.
