General Information

  • Capstone Design (ECE 4334) for Spring 2008:
All seniors expecting to take Capstone Design (ECE 4334) in Spring 2008 are required to attend a meeting in which course requirements will be discussed. Each student must attend one of the meetings. Further details are available here.
  • ENGINEERING 2304 Technical Communications (ENGI 2304):
This is the only approved technical communications course in the ECE curriculum. Beginning in Fall 2005, the prerequisites for this course are as follows: ENGL 1304, MATH 2433, PHYS 1322; and one from CHEE 1331, CIVE 1331, ECE 1331, INDE 1331, MECE 1331 or COSC 1410 and, for EE and CPE majors, ECE 2331.
  • Closed section information:
If a section you wish to enter is closed, you may fill out a Petition for Permission to Enroll in a Closed Section form, which can be found outside the main office (N308 D) or downloaded by clicking here.
  • Remember that current prerequisites and co-requisites apply to everybody who has not yet taken a course, no matter what degree plan they are following. Be sure you know what you are doing before you register. Your academic advisor will be glad to assist you. You can pick up a FAQ sheet, as well as copies of the flowcharts, from the EE Office. Watch for signs (and this space) posting last minute schedule changes (see below). Early registration gives you the best chance to get the classes and times you want.
  • The ECE Department enforces prerequisites and corequisite requirements for all of its courses. All prerequisites must be satisfied with earned grades of C- or better before attempting the "next" ECE course. Refer to the undergraduate catalog or the current ECE flowchart. If you feel there is some special circumstance justifying an exception, for ECE courses only, you can request a "waiver" by filling out & submitting the "ECE Request for Waiver of Prerequisite/Corequisite" form.
  • Enrollment in all the ECE courses except for ECE 1100 is limited to students whose major is officially listed in the College of Engineering.
